Within the framework of the “Our Intangible Heritage, a Value for the Future” Tamsalu project meeting, the schoolhouse was filled with guests from the partner countries of Spain, Portugal and Turkey.
The project meeting started with an introductory round. The groups made posters together to introduce themselves to others. The evening ended with fun games. Those interested could later enjoy the pleasures of swimming in the Tamsalu Sports Complex under the guidance of teacher Maarja Hunt.
The second day of the project meeting started with introducing schools and telling legends. Later, in PowToon, a minute-long cartoon about the legends of each country was created together. Afterwards, our guests visited teacher Reena Curphey, who taught them how to make karask and mulgi porridge. They also got to make butter.
The third day started with a bus ride to Tallinn, where guests were greeted by a concise visit to the Open-Air Museum. At the open-air museum, they were told about Estonian history and a couple of old-fashioned games were played together. After visiting the Open Air Museum, our guests had some free time. Even an injured leg did not discourage our guests, together they enjoyed the sights of Tallinn’s Old Town.
The morning of the fourth day, the guests began felting keychains under the guidance of teacher Reena Curphey. Later, Sirje Luik introduced the guests to folk costumes and kannels. They had fun and played a few games together.
The project meeting ended with a joint dinner in Tamsalu Kirsimari. The principal handed the guests souvenirs. The guests had also made a video about their visit to Estonia, which was later watched together to end the evening.
